However, their role in society transcends the boundaries of classrooms, lecture halls and research laboratories. As public institutions, Australian universities bear a profound responsibility: to meaningfully engage with and advance the interests of the communities they serve; and intensify efforts to prioritise and support self-determination for First Nations.
